Accessibility and NKS Support for Blind and Visually Impaired Users
At Nightfox Audio, we’re committed to making our products accessible to as many musicians and creators as possible. We recognize that blind and visually impaired users often rely on specialized tools and workflows to navigate audio software. That’s why we’re proud to support Native Kontrol Standard (NKS), which enhances accessibility for users working with Native Instruments hardware and software.
What Is NKS?
NKS (Native Kontrol Standard) is a format developed by Native Instruments that allows compatible libraries to be browsed, loaded, and controlled using Komplete Kontrol keyboards, Maschine controllers, and the Komplete Kontrol software. It provides:
- Accessible browsing of presets with speech feedback
- Automatic mapping of key parameters to physical controls
- Consistent user interface for all NKS-enabled instruments
For blind and visually impaired users, NKS provides an intuitive and efficient way to interact with virtual instruments.
Nightfox Audio NKS Libraries
Thanks to our partnership with Freelance Soundlabs, many Nightfox Audio instruments now have NKS libraries available for enhanced accessibility. These libraries have been specially prepared to work seamlessly with Komplete Kontrol and Maschine, and they include metadata, previews, and parameter mappings.
