Rendition: How to Use Arp Zones

This guide covers how to enable and configure Rendition’s arpeggiator, turning static chords into evolving rhythmic patterns.

What Is the Arpeggiator?

Instead of playing a chord all at once, the arpeggiator plays the individual notes in a sequence, creating movement and rhythm. Note that both the CHORD and ARP functions can simultaneously be enabled for a zone.

How to Turn It On:

  1. Go to the Arpeggiator section of the plugin by selecting the ARP button within a zone. You will know the Arpeggiator is enabled when it is light blue in the Zone panel.
  2. You’ll now see controls for rhythm, order, note length, and swing in the center of the plugin.

Basic Controls:

  • Type: Choose note playback order (up, down, random, etc.)
  • Speed: Set timing (1/8, 1/16, triplets, etc.)
  • Swing: Adjust the swing of the notes played within the sequence
  • Steps: Set the number of steps in the sequence
  • Time: Adjust the humanize element by introducing inconsistency into the timing
  • Vel: Adjust the humanize element by introducing inconsistency into the velocity
  • Latch: Enables latch for the arpeggiation sequence
  • Hold: Enables hold for the appegiation sequence
  • Velocity: Use your mouse to set the velocity for each note played within the sequence
  • Note Length: Use your mouse to set how long each note within the sequence is held

Note that the dice will randomize the settings for Velocity and Note Length when pressed.

Try It Out:

  • Hold down a chord (such as C, E, G) on your midi controller.
  • Hear the arp bring it to life — a rhythmic pulse instead of a single block chord.

Rendition’s arpeggiator is deeply musical and perfect for creating inspiration quickly.
