Layered - Presets: Browsing, Saving & Favorites
Layered comes with a huge library of factory presets designed to showcase its range. You can use these presets as inspiration, customize them, and build your own library of saved sounds.
Browsing Presets
- Open the Preset Browser from the Main Page.
- Browse by category (pads, leads, keys, etc.) to quickly find the right type of sound.
- Use tags or search terms to narrow down results.
- Click a preset name to instantly load it into Layered.
Tip: Cycle through presets while playing to hear how different voices blend with your performance.
Saving Custom Presets
- Load a preset you want to modify, or start with a blank patch.
- Adjust voices, effects, envelopes, and any other settings.
- Click Save Preset.
- Give your preset a name and assign it to a category if desired.
Your saved preset will now appear alongside factory presets in the browser.
Using Favorites
- Click the star icon next to a preset to mark it as a favorite.
- Access your Favorites list from the browser for quick recall.
- Great for building a short list of go-to sounds for live sets or writing sessions.
Best Practices
- Save variations of presets as new files instead of overwriting factory patches.
- Use clear naming conventions (e.g., “DreamPad + LFO Sweep”).
- Tag your presets to make them easier to find later.
