Troubleshooting MacroMacro
If something isn’t working the way you expect, use these checks to solve the most common issues.
Macro Knob Not Moving Anything
- Make sure the effect module you want to control is powered on.
- Click the small assign button under an assignable parameter to give the Big Knob permission to move it.
- Check the colored slice in the Big Knob. If it’s zero, the Big Knob has no control over that parameter.
- If you’re controlling the Big Knob from a hardware controller, verify that your MIDI CC mapping is still active in Settings.
Filter LFO Not Affecting Filter
- Turn the Filter module on first.
- Turn the Filter LFO on separately — it doesn’t automatically enable when you power Filter back on.
- Make sure Depth and Rate are set high enough to hear the modulation.
- Check that the Big Knob slice isn’t set to zero if you’ve assigned Filter or Filter LFO to it.
Delay Timing Seems Off
- Tape Delay tempo is set in milliseconds and is not synced to your DAW. Use this for off-grid or in-between echoes.
- Stereo Delay left and right rates are DAW-synced. Use note values (quarters, dotted eighths, etc.) to stay on grid.
- Double-check which delay type is active in the slot.
High CPU Usage or Visual Lag
- Disable the Spectrum display in Settings to save CPU.
- Reduce the number of active effects or lower extreme parameter values like Shimmer size, Pitch LFO depth, or high Feedback on delays.
- If you’re automating many parameters at once, try simplifying the mapping to lighten the load.
